Hi, my boat is a 1989 Jeanneau Sun Magic 44; I´m in the process to re-install the keel. Can someone share information how to do it properly: Thanks in advance; good winds to all of us.

Without knowing your situation it is hard to...
provide you with meaningful information. I can describe the install of a keel by our local boat yard, but it would take a couple of pages. Some basic questions: 1. How is your boat situated; on jack stands, in a cradle? 2. How is the keel situated; in some sort of cradle? 3. Has the boat and keel been prepared for install; keel bolts inspected? 4. Is there a travel lift or crane that can raise the boat onto the keel? Thanks. Terry

Keel replacement
I did mine about 10 years ago. Clean the two mating surfaces. Apply plenty of 3M 5200 and lower the hull onto the keel. Install the keel bolts and torque them. Remove any excess from around the seem. After setup, grind a shallow "V" into the joint and fill with epoxy. Fair the joint and paint. Once the 5200 has set up the keel bolts are almost a secondary or backup. The bond of the 5200 with the hull is far stronger than the keel bolts could ever hope to be. To this day I cannot find the keel/hull joint.
