I haven't hauled my boat out yet. Can anyone describe the keel design for the 1974 O'Day 27'? Also, I have seen 2 specs on the displacement. The first said 6,200 lbs, the other said 6,950 lbs. Does anyone have any insight on this? Thanks and good sailing ;~}, JimC

O'Day 27 Keel design

The 27 was a fin keel Alan Gurney design that had a 4' draft. The displacement was listed at 6,700 lbs for the outboard version and 6950 lbs for the inboard models. The ballast was listed as 2230 lbs. I'm sure that the actual displacement of the inboard version varied depending on what inboard engine was used. To my knowledge 3 different engines were used depending on the year of the boat.

Thanks, B. Terry..How is the keel attached

How is the keel attached? I don't have any keel bolts in my bilge like I have seen on other boats. Thanks, JimC
