keel bolt torque

H34 1984 Hunter. Backing plate is corroded and needs to be replaced. Need the torque for aft keel bolt when i replace the plate..

Such a timely post, I was going to ask the same question.

The nuts on my keel bolts are 1", which isn't on this list. Any idea what the proper torque for 1" nuts are?

I do agree the numbers look high. I got them off a spread sheet on the Hunter website.

They are however in fairly good agreement with the max. recommended torque listed in the Engineers Handbook here,

I think usually torque values are given for a dry nut and bolt and the Waterline publication referenced indicates they be lubricated I think, so I assume that would lower the recommended torque by quite a bit and make life a lot easier.
