Awhile back I had asked for info with regard to the keel bolt torque on my 272LE. The consensus was to smokem'. I have since found out that the actual torque is in fact 160 foot pounds. Overtorquing can lead to damage from crushed fibers (which could result in blistering) to weakening of the bolts themselves. In my younger days as a mechanic it was drilled into my head that all nuts and bolts have a specific torque. While this is not so critical on some applications, it is definately critical in this situation considering that this blob of lead is the only thing keeping you sailing right-side-up. Just my two cents (US) Cheers, Bob

Thanks Bob,

there are three 272's on the inland lake that I sail. I am sure the topic will come up at some point, r.w.landau
