I would like to buy this O'Day 35 and I will get a survey, but I'd just like to get a handle on this issue. The caulking (or whatever material is used for this purpose) where the keel is mated to the hull; was cracked and somewhat pushed out of the joint. The boat had been grounded as explained to me by owner in mud. They were in restricted water so I suspect they did not have much way on. The bottom front 2 square foot of the keel seems to evidence this with only white streaks showing through the bottom paint. A cursory look at only four of the keel bolts did not indicate any corrosion and there was no depth of water around them (fresh water). My question is what extent of work is likely to insure the integrity of the keel fastening and the seal between the keel and the hull?
