Hunter 36 Punta Gorda
I went kayaking this morning in a carolina 14' made by perception with a friend and it felt good not having gone for a few years I did have my own at one time few different kayaks of my own.
Any way he's thinking of selling a 13 and 14 ft kayaks and wondering what if any kayaks you use on your 356/36 Hunter,I just want to keep them up on the bow for now and just wondering if this is an OK size stored up on the bow.
He will be bringing them down to my boat and do some kayaking out in Charlotte harbor off my boat soon.

racks

We keep two kayaks on our boat. We've had them for a couple of years now. What I did was get a couple of sets of Garhaurer kayak racks and store the kayaks on the outside of the lifelines. The racks work great, keep our decks clear and make it easy to transport. The picture is not the best, but if you look just above the powerboat in the foreground, you will see one of our two kayaks. The kayak in the picture is a Cobra Dive N Fish, which is the same shell used for a tandem.

No Racks

I don't see me adding racks like you have do to the fact that I am not on a mooring and instead I keep my 36 in a slip with poles on port and starboard, that's why I will be trying a 14 carolina which I am very familiar with and like the way it handles and know people willing to work out a trade or good price with me.

I'm not on a mooring, but normally in a slip as well. I have about a 2' walk with a piling in the middle of the walk on the starboard side. I have to be careful backing out, but I haven't had any problems with it. And you can turn the rack around and mount them with the kayak on the inside of the lifelines. I've done that when doing my haulout. Easier than storing kayaks in a slip where they can disappear.

Thanks guys

I am not even sure I will even add kayaks to my toy collection yet just going to try things out first before buying any thing, the admiral thinks I am crazy.
At one time we had a perception 17.6 and her 16.6 and did a lot of kayaking together with friends until we got our sailboat than sold them, she likes just using the dinghy to exploring those shallow places here in Florida.
I enjoy going with some friends kayaking early mornings or late afternoons in between the rain and thunder storms a 14 carolina would be perfect to throw on the car and go with a group, but still be able to carry on the boat.
I am hoping soon to have my freind bring this kayak down to the boat and see how it works,I love water any thing to do on the water is great here in florida.
I also have a sit on top inflatable I use on the boat just looking to add a regular hard light kayak.
