Mandeville suffered extensive damage. Many, many trees are down. One boat in the marina was hit by two very large pine trees. Quess who's boat. I spent today cutting the trees away and sealing the boat up until the insurance quy can inspect it. The trees hit the backstay and due to the weight of the trees, the mast collapsed. The rigging did not break. The binicle compass, nav pod, was smashed. The companion way boards and the companion way slide hatch were broken. The stern rails took most of the hit, along with the port lifelines and saved the roof from any damage, as far as I can tell. Has anyone replaced a mast on a 1981 H-30? Can one still be bought and what would be a ballpark fiqure to replace the mast, running rigging? The boom appears to be okay. Even though this damage hurts, it is nothing compared to what other sailors at SYC and Southshore Marina had. And the Big Easy? Its bad! If someone can explain how to insert a photo on this site, I have a few pictures of the boat.
