Kabota Rabbit Hole....

Well...I know this may be an astonishing waste of time and energy...chasing the Black Pearl or the Moby Dick...but $700 for two new fuel injectors has me looking to diesel tractor ancestors for bargain pricing... (let's just put aside rebuild for now - been down that road). After too much digging I have determined my M12 Universal is the close (exact?) descendant of the historical Kubota engine Z400. Interesting information, but doesn't seem to deliver the parts cross-reference I would need to make sure I'm ordering the correct Kubota injectors. Anyone else wasted time in this rabbit hole? Should I just stop now and pay Westerbeke their 400% mark-up? Tx. Tom O'Day 28.

Just pull out 1 injector and take to Kubota tractor supplier or bobcat dealer also forklifts have Kubota engines in them and truck refrigeration units use Kubota

No rabbit hole at all. You need parts for your Kubota G3200 tractor. The nozzles are about $75 each from Kubota, cheaper from online shops. I found some new on eBay for about $45, pretty sure they're the right ones but they didn't list that tractor model. I got a pair for my 5411 for $40 each on eBay. I think all the smaller Kubota use the same nozzle.
Do not under any circumstances, buy anything from Westerbeke / Universal.

Is there a good source for cross referencing engine models to Kubota models?

Thanks all. Unfortunately one cannot edit a post title - onward. Couple follow-up inquires: 1) searching for Z400 fuel system parts and nothing coming up anywhere. Maybe the Z400 is living in a Kuboto tractor with a different name?, and 2) in my research on occasion I'm seeing need for "special tools" to pull fuel injectors. I assumed it wouldn't be quite as simple as pulling spark plugs...but really, special tools? Tx. Tom O'Day 28.

Just climbed out of the rabbit hole! Thanks to all for shepherding me - in particular kUbota G3200 recommendation. Any comment on special tools still appreciated. Tom.

On the Kubota they're just like spark plugs. A big socket wrench will do it. It's Volvo that needs the special tool.
You would think the Kubota shop could search by engine model, but they can't. You need the tractor number.
