Hunter H260 Gull Lake
After a sales scam, a long winter and finally making a decision to purchase an H260, I did that yesterday (my birthday). I put my Mac 26X up for sale and it sold in two weeks. I have stayed in contact with a gentleman from Boise over the winter who was considering upgrading from his H260. Long story short, we made a deal yesterday. I believe I paid him a fair price as I have been watching the market all winter. There are a couple Hunters that are priced cheaper that I have been looking at but at the end of the day, his had most of the features I am looking for and I'm satisfied with the price (as is the seller). Due to some logistical reasons I will not be picking it up for a while, but when I do drive down to pick it up I will be making a few stops on the way home at some lakes in Idaho and BC and turning this trip into a short vacation. The PO has offered to spend a day with me sailing and going over the mast raising etc... on his lake, so I can really get to learn all about it. I can't tell you how excited I am. Thanks to all for the input this forum has given me over the last several months as it has really helped in my decision process. I hope I can become an asset to this forum in the years to come. In the mean time, I will be up late reading as much as I can on this forum to prepare myself for some sailing adventures on MY Hunter H260!!

Great

Congra's to you and just take notes on all the things the PO instructs you about the boat and maybe even take Photo's and will not believe how many times you will say I forget what the PO told me to do,I have said it many times after the dealer took me out sailing on my boat.
I think that is great The PO and you are doing a demo, have fun sailing you new to you boat, photo's never lie so take many close up's.

Before I got mine, a small used boat outfit let me raise the mast on one they had just gotten. It really helped but this check list was also of great value.

I have it printed out, the list and pictures, and in a binder I made with the manual for the boat.
Even though I'm to the point where I can just about remember everything, I still refer to it. Better safe than sorry.
Enjoy your boat!

Great choice on your boat! I love mine! I would also suggest you take Sublime's advice. A good and well thought out plan on raising the mast is a must. The Mistress of Grand Traverse Bay's outline is excellent! I just got mine in the water today so I am looking forward to my first sail tomorrow, no wind tonight.
