Hi

Got a 2000 H310 (steel Arch) two years ago, enjoying the heck out of it but can't find much info online even here. I would like to do a few updates to it just wondered if anyone out there has comments, info or ideas.

Need to replace the bimini canvas, can't find anyone who sells replacement for stock from a pattern you find so many available for other less popular boats, am I missing something?

Anybody added separate winches for the jib sheets? would love a picture. I have seen the thread on adding blocks at the mainsheet to get that out of the way so the stock ones can be used but must be missing how that works with the canvas on, it looks like the cam cleat is on the traveller car.

loads of others on the horizon, new fridge, new hot water heater, AC... It's an addiction.

Thanks in advance, Happy New Year to all

Congrats on your new boat! There's really no such thing as a stock bimini; the one you have might have been provided by Hunter (if so, we may be able to replace the canvas). However, it's more common that a dealer added the bimini or a prior owner, in which case it could have been made almost anywhere.

Your best bet is hiring a local canvas shop to come out and measure the frame, then build a replacement canvas to those specs.

Also, be sure to check out the Boat Info tab. Click on the 310 then Modifications.

Congrats ...............................

................... on the new boat and welcome to near poverty.

If you're a fanatic on upgrades, one of the best I have made (June 2011) is an external, three stage alternator regulator for the OEM 55A Hitachi alternator. Don't get sucked into installing a larger alternator ................ it won't deliver one extra amp, it's the smart regulator that puts the alternator to work.

Since installing the smart regulator, I always manage to get the batteries to 100% state of charge (from 50% SOC) after motoring for the day as opposed to never more than 80% with the OEM regulator.

For further upgrades, follow Phil's instructions and then start looking for a second job :D.

Don't know what success you've had with your previous post on the reefer compressor placement, but our 1999 H-310 came from the factory with the compressor installed in the strbrd centre storage compartment as shown below. Probably the least intrusive location to install.

Take the canvas bimini to your local canvas shop to be used as a pattern. I have a 295 with a full bimini and was quoted 700 - 800 for replacement.

JonPan, I ordered my Bimini frame and canvas with my boat from Hunter. 10yrs ago. Just 3 years back I ordered a set of Bimini canvas and Sailcover from Hunter. They have the pattern. When I checked my stock Bimini, I see marking like 310. So I suppose my 326 is very similar to your 310. I've fitted AB Cold Machine and Cruisair Aircon under the starboard seat in cabin. I will try post some pictures of my modification as soon as I figure it out. Else if you PM me your email I could get some pictures to you sooner.
