Some Things Are A "Classic"
from the very first moment.
Some things "age" into the title.
This weekend as I made improvements on my 33C, changed the hull-liner, added another coat of teak stain, used the microwave, turned up the air-conditioner, and watched a movie I marveled at how the technology in the boat had changed while "she" did not.
Under sail she is as John intended. She responds to the wheel and maintains almost a perfect weather helm. Her sails move her efficiently as she slices through the water.
With each new wave of electronics, she is upgraded with the same "state-of-the-art" technology of boats coming just off the production line boast.
I don't think she cares, one bit, about the "bling." That really is for me.
She simply wants her sailed unfurled. All she asks is for wind, a compass course, and a Captain at the helm.
Be prepared to be amazed at how many adventures can be contained within thirty-seven feet.
...in a silent moment, alone at anchor, give a toast to John C. His dream carries us all to the next horizon.
