Brian I am a new owner of a OI and I should have possesion this Tuesday. I am having the boat shipped from Fl to San Diego. The mast will be down and I am not sure if the rigging was left on the masts or removed before shipment. I have been a small boat owner for years. Mainly sailing a Hobie 18 cat. I was told that the yard I had decommission the boat marked where all rigging was ajusted to before dismantling. I am seriously considering having a professional rigger help me install the mast and mizzen. What is a fair price to pay for such help? I am a carpenter and $200. a day is considered resonable pay. I have no idea what a rigger ask for. My other question has to do with the mast on this particular boat was reduced by five feet to allow the old owner to pass under bridges in his area. He had the main sail cut to a fat head and claimed that there was no loss in performance. When I had the boat in survey the main looked good. I was wondering if you have ever dealt with this and if there is anything in particular to watch for. Thanks Greg
