Unfortunately it is only available for IPhones and IPads. There was an interview with the creator, a boater himself, in The Log newspaper. I downloaded it to my wife's phone and it is really well made. It had wind speeds, wind direction, swell height, period and directions, tide information and forecasts the same. It's all in a pretty simple format.

I just downloaded it. It looks nice. Even better, it is free!

Go into the App Store. Search SeaStatus. It will come up on there as SeaStatus Marine Weather.

Jim,
I would go to the iStore and see if they can get it onto your iPad. If it works on the phone then it should work on the iPad. it is the same operating system.

I am not familiar with the iPad. If you link the phone and the iPad can you take the app from the phone and put it on the iPad?

We are giving away a free car. Optional items needed for the car to work are: Engine, Steering Wheel, Four Tires.

Does this link work for you? https://itunes.apple.com/us/app/seastatus-marine-weather/id849005193?mt=8&ign-mpt=uo=4

Isn't this a shell that just goes to other sites and gets the information that is readily available? It looks like a weather widget that has a few other things attached. Granted it is all right there in front of you, but I think WeatherUnderground provides basically the same functions.

I use Weatherundergroung myself for buoy information. It gives a good history of activity. In fact I've used their archived records to get yearly trends off Ventura when planning a trip to Santa Cruz Island.

To get forecast you have then go to Weatherundergrounds NOAA forecast which range from Pt Magu to San Mateo pt. That is a large area that includes some generally windier and bigger swells. The weather in the bay is generally much calmer.

Here3 is a link to the Log interview:

I like the format that he has put together and the presentation makes it easy for the Admiral to understand.

Considering the cost of everything Marine, $2.99 is a bargain.

The only draw back is that it is not on Android yet.

I downloaded it on my iPhone after seeing caguy's post.
I like the display. It is laid out well and easy to use. I did pay the extra for the forecast, which is only 24 hours. It's a little easier to use than a couple other weather apps I have if I just want to see wind direction, strength and what it should do in the afternoon.

I too looked for it for the iPad and like the others could not find it. Downloaded the iPhone version and it still looks and works OK.

I like weather apps. Downloaded SeaStatus and will give it a whirl. Thanks for passing it along. One of my favorites is SailFlow. Check it out.
