Joe, Regarding your outboard/rudder connection you wrote: "I used all stainless components which were 1/2" tie rod ends, 1/2" fine thread rod, and 1/2" 'cotterless' clevis pins (ball detent). The fixed pin above allows me to detach the outboard from the steering before raising it for sailing. It stays fixed on straight ahead. In this position you can also steer with the rudder while motoring." I think this is an excellent setup, and better than what I currently have. The question I have is where did you get the stainless tie rod ends and the clevis pins? I went to a NAPA and they said they didn't have any stainless components like that.
