I have a 1985 25' MacGregor that I sail quite often single-handed and am in the process of running my main halyard back to the cockpit. While I was in the store to enquire as to the needed hardware the salesperson suggested that I install a jiffy reefing system as well. I think that is what he called it. Do you knowledgable, experienced sailors out there think that the added expense for the jiffy reefing is really necessary? Thanks for your help.
