what effect do you have if you put an extension on the jib for better visabilityi raised my jib 18"

John,I've thought about doing that also, maybe build a little cable pigtail to raise the jib tack up so the foot won't be tangled up so much in the bow pulpit. Have you tried it yet?David

yes i have looks funny but was in a light wind so dont have a good idea how it reacts catalina screwed up on my new rigging and i have a really bad rake on the mast that has to be fixed yet

Mast rake

John:Measure from the top of the mast where the jib sheet enters the truck to the aft hole in the bow plate. Do this by putting the tape measure onto the jib shackle and adding to your measurement the length of the jib shackle and swag. The measurement should be 27 feet.Note, that mast pre-bend can be mistaken for mast rake.
