Jib sheet, one line or 2 separate? pros/cons

The PO of my c22 had it set up with one jib sheet with a snap shackle in the middle. I am getting rid of that shackle that's for sure. Looking for pros/cons of single line attached with larkshead or 2 separate with bowline knots. I am leaning towards two separate ones but would like advice before I cut my rope in half

Some use a cow hitch until it starts to fray and then go to two sheets.

Thanks. Yes, I imagine it is a recurring question. I searched different wording of my question and didn't find chit. I guess "cow hitch" is the magic words for my jib sheet question
