Jib sail has slight tear

I have a jib sheet that has about a 2 inch tear that starts at the head and continues down the luff. It is a 1986 Hunter 28.5 with a Hood furling system and original jib. Can I repair it myself or should I bring it to a sail shop?

Just take it on down to nearest loft,usually pretty inexpensive.Good time to look at some new sails! ED.

tape

You can go to a medical supply and ask for 2" silk tape. Short term fix, but cheap.

Had my checked out

I took my sails to the UK Sail loft in my area. For minor stitching on my 15 year old main it cost me $50. Not bad concidering.

The sail shop it is. I gave them a call and it sounds like will be inexpensive to fix. thanks, Zen
