I am a new (inexperienced) Catalina 30 owner with a jib that needs the UV liner replaced. Can someone recommend a good place to have it done? Thanks

I have a 135 roller furling jib and my UV strip needs to be restitched (they are sewn on in panels not one continuous run. Several panels came loose. When I inquired at my local sailmaker shop here in Georgia, I was advised it would cost about $150.00 for restitching the all panels on the sail, which I have elected to do. To replace the entire UV panel however, was not cheap! Any sailshop can do this, so shop for prices.

Hey Bob4203,
I assume you will have questions about your new boat.I'm brand new to this site but have alot of experience with the boat. Mine is a 1980 vintage, so if you have future questions let me know.
About your jib work, ask around to see who is happy with a sailmaker. Secondly, any good shop will get the job done. One thing to remember is the age of the sail & it's material. If the sail is 5 or more years old, You may want to have it restiched but they will discuss this with you, Also you may want to have an additional wear patch added to the UV sacrificial strip "SAC STRIP" where the sail will pass the spreaders depending on the size sail.
