I have a 1988 Hunter 23. I am adding a snap furler and want to replace the jib. Is this a 100% or 110? Where do I get a good sail at a good price? Are the 100% Doyles that are on this web site any good?

HOW prices are good!

Lee: The HOW store prices are good and so is the quality. I shopped around for sails and find that most of the mail order places for sails start out cheaper but when you start adding special things like full battens, tell tails, reef points etc. the other places end up being more expensive than HOW. When you shop ALWAYS compare the EXACT same cloth brand and weight when you get your basic price. There is sometimes a lot of difference is the same weigh cloth from different mfg. After all things are equal, consider what is going to happen if something is not quite right. HOW is the best at customer service.

Prices

If you have to mail order your sail, then buy from a loft that comes highly recommended. Doyle sails sold on the How site are usually very good quality. Many production lofts leave off the prices for chafe protection, leather, tell tails, insignia, sail bag, etc. The more you learn about sails, the better quality one you will want. Then it comes down to your choice between cruising and racing sails and your budget.
