Hi
My ancient self furler stopped furling, so I figured I would finish the season with a jib I got with the boat five years ago. Trouble is, I don't know how to rig it. It has a series of brass snaps at the top of the luff as if it is meant to be snapped over the forestay. It has a series of plastic wedges on the bottom as if it fits in a track. There is nothing in between. Maybe I am not looking at a 100 percent jib, although that's what the PO called it.
Any help greatly appreciated.

If you have a furler with a foil around

the forestay, I doubt you'd be able to hank or clip or whatever your old sail to it. ATN sells a "system" to be placed over a furled sail to allow hanking on and flying small jibs and storm sails, but it's pricey. You should post a pic of your old sail as it sounds quite interesting, whatever it is....

You may want to consider going to the Annapolis boat show (Oct 9-13th) and buying a new furler there at boat show prices...

thanks

Here is a photo of the sail. What I thought were plastic clips on the bottom are actually part of a tensioning system.
Do furler foils break apart? It looks like it comes in segments. It wouldn't be too hard to remove it, but I'm not sure what I'd do with it on the dock at 30 plus feet.
