Just brought a 1996 beneteau 351 and are having trouble with the jib furling drum. At the moment the top of the drum is seating above the deck and I am unable to connect the chain plate to the drum. Is this right or should the drum be lower...thou I have no more room left on the back stay turn buckle.

thanks for your response in advance

Most likely a profurl. On the 351 the genoa furling is mounted below the deck.

I may be on my boat tomorrow and the documentation that came with the boat was for a 351. I will see if the cross section is in the binder. Unless someone else gets back to you first.

Added cross section. Don't know if it helps?
