Hi everyone.

I got my self a sailboat finally as i have been dreaming about it for as long as i can remember. Its a 28ft Poker Jeanneau.

The sailing part of the boat is fine, engine, rigging and so on, but the interior, exterior paint and overall look in general does need some love. So i started tearing the interior out, peeling away old fiberglass and rotten bulkheads.

One thing i can't understand is, does this boat have a Bilge? I opened up the floor boards and it seems there is only a cabin sole above the keel. I can see the bolts but i don't see and opening in there which goes down into the keep a bit for the water. Is this how the boat is in general?

I can't find any pictures of the internals on the web for this boat so i am doing the restoration and figuring it out as i go but it seems the boat was badly painted in the past, hasn't been looked after although the hull is solid.

Any help would really be appreciated.

When you lift up the floor boards you are probably looking at what little bilge there is.
It could be similar to my 323. There is less than six inches between the floorboards and the keel bolts with a sump about half the sze of a half gallon milk carton.

Thank you for that info. That is what i thought. Just wanted to make sure that those who had it before me didn't glass over it in their "repairs"
