Jealous of the boats already in....

This will be my latest launch in over 20 years. Yesterday I finally finished waxing the hull and the AwlCraft 2000 still looks as good today as when it was applied 10 years ago. The depth and clarity has not changed at all in ten years. Great stuff and buffable.

Unfortunately I still need to:

Finish rewiring the engine (complete with new sensors, solenoids, switches fuses etc.)
Install alternator and wire and configure external alternator rectifier (pretty big project)
Re-pack the stuffing box
Install prop shaft
Install prop
Remove winter cover
Re-install LiFePO4 battery bank
Run & test all systems
Replace mast boot

Damn I've got at least another 20+ hours............

Really looking good. 10 years sounds like a great service period for a paint, how was it applied?
You buff. Wax? Maintain 1 time a year?

looking at you rudder mounting ....that leading edge on that rudder in front of the pivot point makes it like you have power steering ....oh and the finish is great .......

Ever hear of a bus driver's holiday? Sound familiar?
Seriously though, she looks lovely.

Looks like I might NOT be the last forum member to launch this year...

Still have to apply the decals, wax the transom, put Bimini and solar panel back up, attach the boom and sails, and run a white vinyl stripe near the top of the boot stripe.

Jealous? Of what? At least you can pull your boat and work on it. I can't. I would love to have a trailer to bring my boat home and work on it. Don't be jealous, no need.

Don't worry, I have yet to disassemble my mast step and compression post, and decide what I'm gonna do. Am I going to cut apart and see if there's wet plywood? Or add a SS plate between the compression post and cabin roof, then overbore the bolt holes and add some SS sleeving to transfer some load. I have a new main sail on order, but that's not preventing me. It's more finding time to get working. Well, might as well haul my Force 5 to the lake and forget about doing boat work! :)

Looks great! One of the drawbacks (??!) of being in the marine business. Your customers would have launched it, then brought it to you mid-season when the preventative maintenance, you are doing now, reared it's ugly head. Ignorance is bliss. Our boat is blissfully launched, though I got all my maintenance done during our unseasonably warm winter, this year.

Don't worry Mainesail, i have made up for your absence . Also did a radar trial for a large electronics company. Anybody care to guess the RCS of the reflector? and for a bonus point, what is the name of the famous boat i am tied up to?

My Mac 26 was in the water at the local lake briefly last month, then I pulled her out again to make some changes. I cast a mooring so I could leave her in the water for a couple days at a time without worrying about dragging. I didn't get to place the mooring yet. It's still beside the house.
This was the water level at the local lake on 11 May:

Last night, Central Texas got some heavy rains; reported between 2 and 8 inches.

If you look at the covered dock in the background, it is afloat. The lake rose ~ 6ft overnight. This picture was at 2PM today, 29 May.

And....some of the hazards in the water. Believe it or not, we observed stink-boaters towing people at speed through this:

All-in-all, I'm glad that I'm not on the water yet. I set a new target for sometime next month, probably down at the coast.
