Javelin Rigging

I have a mid 70's Javelin which i know nothing about. I am afraid that the rigging is too light for the heavey winds of lake huron. I also find that the mast bends substantially, is this normal? Has anyone else had problems with rigging failing or being too light?

rigging

on mine, the rigging is tightened to about 10% of working strength of the stay material. if it is blowing that hard, perhaps you should reduce sail some, would expect a knock over before breaking the mast.
