Java gets an upgrade

After several years of wishing and wanting. Java has gotten an upgrade. We now have Solar Stik installed on the boat. Brian and his team did an install in less than three days. Most of the time was spent creating a mounting bracket to the rails which is rock solid. The boat is still in St Augustine while I'm in Virginia. We will be bringing the boat back home in May. At that time I'll have more pictures of the install. Just after installing the solar panels I checked the amount of power I was getting and was just at 8 amps. I'm now free of the dock power cord to keep the batteries topped up.

Tim was right, Its a 200 watt Air Breeze. It has not turned very much since the batteries have just about been topped up. I'll have to wait until we get into some wind with the batteries down to see how much it is generating. The first day we had the panels going - it was about 2-3 in the afternoon and they were putting out 8 amps. This was enough to keep the refrigeration on and still have power left over. If anyone is in St Augustine and wants to see it, the boat is in Camachee Cove Marina on 'H' dock..

Now I have to put up with Joan wanting me to paint walls....the new HONEY Do List has started. Think it is time for a real long cruise...

I got a real good painter back home and my back likes when I call her.
