Well almost pieces. Beyond repair here at least in the Rep of Panama.
A small roller on the line that coils this line and used to redirect this line into the body of the roller jammed it up. This was at the moment when there was a sudden change of wind from SW to NE with more than just white caps rippling towards me. I got the motor running and the main down before it hit. The jammed jib was flapping the 2+ hrs i had heading into this wind, gusting at 50 mph, on the return to my marina, Boca Chica on the Pacific.
Ok so now think I want to replace it, although I have a spare normally rigged jib to use for now.
My interest is in what if any does a genoa offer over a jib?
I looks like more sail from photos. Does it work better than a jib in light winds? That would be my guess. Or is it too much sail for these Hunter 26's for off shore sailing conditions.
thanks
Craig
