I finally removed those worthless jam cleats that came with the 240 (for the jib) and purchased two wonderful swivel cams by Harken. Easy removal and even easier installation. Question: What have other 240 owner done about the extra hole left by the jam cleat? I was considering just a small rubber cap that will screw through the deck. Suggestions?

Model Number??

Eric, What model number did you end up using? Since you are Ithaca, you probably have not had a chance to try them out yet. Let us know how they do - have to be beter than the Jam Cleats. Thanks, Charlie "Good Medicine"

Repair

Fill the holes with a fiberglass type marine bondo or marine putty. Then add gel to it. You should have a box of white plastic bottles which you could send to your dealeer which he can send back. If that is not possible, call Gregg emerson at Hunter. If no help, ask for my number and I will be glad to send you some. No charge except to find me a new brain since I am loosing too many brain cells. Crazy Dave

Bolt, washer and 5200

Just pet one of the bolts back in. You can put a finish washer on it or use a machine screw. That way when you move up to a 260 you can take the cleats with you and pet the old ones back on.

Thanks for the advice

I did consider rebuilding the hole with fiberglass and gel but like the idea of putting the old jams back in place so I'll try the washer ideas. FYI I think the Harken model number was 240 or 241 and they install like a dream. They look and seem to function great but I'll find out for sure on April 15th ... countdown to launch!

Cam Cleats

Don't forget to add risors to the cams. I did this and all works perfectly.
