jack stand placement on Hunter 27

We purchased a 1976 Hunter 27 with a shoal keel and the boatyard put it on stands for us. My concern is that the stands in the back may be in the wrong location because the fiberglass above the rear stands flexes when we walk on the boat as it sits in the yard. Can anyone tell me where the rear stands should go? If I line them up under the bulkhead of the cockpit to the cabin it seems to far forward. Does anyone know a place that shows the design of this boat and how the stands are supposed to be placed?

Picture please. Some flex is normal but check for hull deformation around the stands. If you do not notice any I would not worry. During the early days of fiberglass boat manufacturers were not quite sure how strong the material was and as a result the hulls were overbuilt resulting in heavier stronger hulls than what today is commonly accepted. The h27 Cherubini has a very strong hull and I doubt that having the boat sit on jackstands would do any harm.

It may be said it the Cherubini is a strong hull (I would call it strong enough) but if you put your stands to far aft it oil cans a lot. Amazingly it does seem to pop back when back in the water. The previous owner of my 76 27 marked the hull, the aft stands are about a foot aft of the most aft projection of the keel (shoal draft), the forward stands are a couple of feet forward of the keel. I get no oil canning in these locations. An important thing to know about the construction of the early boats is they wern't stiffened by the grid system that showed up in the 80's. It is stiffened by shaped 2x4 glassed over. I cut my floor out and found this work poorly done and added one stiffener and three layers of glass over everything. Must had been a Friday lay up.

Marina put it on the hard with 3 stands but increased to 5 sets for Sandy.
