I need help. My macerator pump started leaking so I ordered a rebuild kit. I followed all directions and re-installed the pump. After re-installing the pump I filled my waste tank with 10 gals of clean fresh water to prime the pump and test it. My dilemma is the pump will not prime and empty the water out. I still have 10 gals of water in my tank. According to troubleshooting, I must have an air leak. I have tightened and re-tightened all screws and nuts on the pump and hoses. I don't know how to test for an air leak or what else I can do. Any advice and/or help is very much appreciated. FRUSTRATED

Remove the pump and test it on a bench first. You can spray with soapy water where the hose and the gasket is.

According to troubleshooting, I must have an air leak.
If the 10 gal. of water has raised the water level in the tank above the level of the pump suction, your "air leak" would now appear as a visible water leak.

An air leak is a suction leak. It is on the delivery side letting air in instead of making a suction and pulling the "clean" water from the tank. soap is of little use in finding suction leaks BTW.
I'd check to see if the electrical is wired up correctly. the motor will run backward if you wire it backward

Sorry to say this, but I never rebuild mascerator pumps.
The rebuild kit is about $40 ( at least), and you can buy a new one for about $100.
Even the tiniest leak in the seals stinks up your boat. And I just would rather not try and debug sewage smells even for 5 minutes.
If you chuck the pump, then you are guaranteed it will be sealed, functional, and not stinky.
