I need to replace the manual Jabsco raw water intake head with an electric fresh water system on my 2005 Hunter 38. The dealer uses/recommends the Jabsco Quiet Flush because it fits under the shower seat without modification. Reviewing this site the Raritan Sea Era gets high remarks. Any comparison comments between the two models?

No comparison between the two...

The SeaEra is the most durable reliable toilet in its class and should fit the same space as any 37xxx series Jabsco. Your dealer recommends the Jabsco 'cuz his dealer price is lower than Raritan's.

I agree with Peggy!

It's no big deal to put in the Sea Era. I am finishing our 4th season with the Sea Era and have not had to do one thing to it. It is a really fine toilet and is easy to explain how to use to guests.

Hey Jerry - I am planning on installing the sea era this winter. Since we have sister boats (I have a 2003 356) did you order the 90 degree discharge? thanks.....t

Re: I agree with Peggy!

Following Peggy's (usual) great advice, I replaced a manual Jabsco POS with a Raritan SeaEra. The installlation was (relatively) painless and the new head makes "training" guests aboard considerably easier. The only downsides I have come to recognize with the SeaEra is that (1) there is no option to pump the bowl dry outside of shutting off the seacock and briefly hitting the flush switch, and (2) my raw water model tends to fill the holding tanks a bit quicker than the manual PHII I installed at the same time in the second head. As I am on an inland lake with excellent pumpout facilities (meaning convenient and free), filling the tank is not as bad as it could be where pumpout facilities are not as convenient (or free).
