Hello Peggy,
Some weeks back I've changed the top gasket and joker valves to my Jabsco manual pump. It works fines. Lately, whenever I switch to "dry" position to pump out, the cam tends to flipback to "wet". I've to hold onto the cam to pump the head dry. What's wrong with it and what can I do to fix it ? Thanks.

Ken

The cam assembly has failed

Which is very common in Jabsco toilets...next it's highly likely to hang up, creating backpressure that'll make it impossible to pump the toilet in the dry mode at all.

So you have two choices...Replace the cam assembly and wait to find out what's gonna fail next...or replace the toilet. If it were mine I'd consider this the perfect excuse to upgrade to a Rartian PHC (same pump as the PH II, but on a compact base and with a shorter handle to fit in the same space as your Jabsco. The sbo.com chandlery has it for a very competitive price.

Re: The cam assembly has failed

Noted. Thanks. I've also realise one of the mounting boss for the top cover has broken off thus leaks some whenever I pump. Sharks! what else can go wrong??!! I suppose the Rartian PHC is not a drop in replacement for the Jabsco i.e. bolt/screw holes.

So...you'll have to drill one or two new holes and fill one or two

That's no big deal. A power drill and the right size bit to make holes that are the right size to be a tight fit for the new mounting bolts...some waterproof caulk...done.
