The pump on my Jabsco head could not be moved so I replaced it today with a new pump assembly which did not come with a new base valve gasket so I used the old one. When I tested it after assembly it was leaking from the base of the pump. Do you think a new base valve gasket will cure this?

If you didn't crack the base by overtightening the screws when you put the new pump onto it, a new gasket might help.

It was leaking like a sieve. I guess I'll try a new gasket & if that doesn't work, a new head.
