Jabsco Electric head troubleshooting

I'm looking for some troubleshooting information:
1) I am seeing some salt crystals on the motor so I am suspecting I have to replace the seal on the drive side of the pump?
2) As I have to turn the shaft by hand before I can run the motor I suspect I may have to dismantle and clear the macerator or the pump? If we are using it regularly there is no issue.
3) With the seawater cock closed (checked - not leaking), over time a low water levels appears in the bowl. Does the indicate it is time to change the joker valve?
Thank-you

I just had to do this maintenance on my Jabsco Quietflush the 37045 or 37245 Series of electric toilet.
The maintenance kit is Jabsco 90197 and contains the motor mount gasket, the motor shaft seal, a joker valve, and some plastic washers. Peforming the maintenance is a snap.

Thank-you. The Chandlery had the kit on the shelf and offered useful advice

The answer to question 3 is actually Maybe.
Is the water clean or dirty? If it's dirty, the answer is Yes. If it's clean, it's flush water...replacing the joker valve--which should be done annually anyway--won't solve the problem because the flush water gets into the bowl via the toilet INTAKE line... the joker valve is in the toilet DISCHARGE fitting.

Does the toilet us sea water or pressurized fresh water? If sea water, there's a solenoid valve with vented loop that operates the intake pump which is remote from the toilet. It may be leaking. The fresh water version also has a solenoid valve works kinda a like a sink faucet...opens to let pressurized water into the toilet, closes to shut the flow of water off. IT may be leaking. In either case, cleaning it may solve the problem but Jabsco solenoid valves have relatively short life spans, so it may be necessary to replace it.
