Sadly, the past two weeks in MY Tampa Bay area, four people died from drowning.
Every year here, lives are lost. We had one lake fisherman in a boat by himself fall overboard.
Another swimmer drowned because of currents right off the beach.
Two others had their dogs go overboard. The dogs were rescued, but their owners lost their lives.
I am not aware of summertime fatality statistics in other areas, but this goes on for months down here in the gulf, lakes & backyard swimming pools.
Why this thread you may ask, it's all about awareness & safety, or the lack thereof. This should be a reminder of how easy it is to lose one's life in such a short amount of time. Here in Florida, All year long, we also lose many little-one's lives in backyard swimming pools. One such child this past week.
Alcohol is probably the most common reasons for a life wasted from drowning. I feel that the Gulf is MY backyard, if you want to negligently kill yourself, please be considerate & first ask me for my permission beforehand..........Thank you.
