I am interested in purchasing one of these Islanders (circa 1972) and am attempting to research the model prior to making a long trip to view it. I figure it is worth knowing what the pros & cons of the boat are prior getting my feet any wetter. Islander hulls seem to have avoided many of the problems found in boats of this vintage and the Bruce King design seems sound. However this information is pretty dry and there is virtually no information on this model on the www that I can find. Are there folks out there with experience sailing and maintaining one of these? I'd sure like to hear from you. Thanks
