Islander 24 N/A ... yet
I've got an Islander 24 with no toe rails. The original toe rails were removed by the previous owner. While I'm no stranger to woodworking, I'd like to at least consider the possibility of aluminum. So, my questions:

1) Do Islander 24 owners have any experience w/ aluminum toe rails? If so, can you make some recommendations about them?

2) I'd also appreciate suggestions about what needs to be done to procure or construct wooden toe rails.

Russ,
I have a vintage Morgan 24 and made my own toe rails.
I used Azek, 100% PVC deck lumber, because teak is way too much $$ and the other marine environment friendly woods that I found were hard woods and therefore would require steam bending and my skills, patience and available time are not up to that.
The Azek (spring 2011) was $3/foot, pliable and easy to work. If you look at my album under my profile you can see a couple of pictures. Other guys have used nu teak, and the other artificial deck lumbers. A big plus to this stuff is it looks good and there is no varnishing.
I can write up a description of the process if you like.
