Is this black box keeping my head sump from working?

The wash basin drains into the shower sump, and a float switch should activate the pump. Right? The pump is functional when 12v are applied direct, but otherwise it will not activate via the float switch. It could be bad I suppose. But WHAT is this thing? A relay of sorts?

Any ideas for troubleshooting/workarounding appreciated.

Interesting you sure you have a float switch. Our sump (on a First 36.7) ONLY comes on when you turn on the manual sump switch in the head... AND the shower sump breaker is ON.

If your float switch factory? Do you have a manual switch?

That is a 5-pole Double Pole Single Throw Relay. A float closing the sense would make both +12 and ground wires.

Google the manufacturer and model number and it'll give you a quick description

Timer relay to keep the pump going a few seconds after the switch tells it to kick off perhaps.
