We just bought an 82 O'Day 34 after sailing a Pearson P-30 for 12 years & Tanzer 26 for 8 years before that. the Pearson was supposed to be a tender boat but I never buried the rail in 12 years of sailing it in winds from 0-30 knots in Cape Cod Bay, Buzzards Bay & the Vineyard Sound. It reefed down well & heeled about 15-20 degrees & then stopped. I hope the O'Day 34 is as good a sailer as the P-30 was.

Not tender at all

The owner pictures of the O'Day 34 belong to my buddy Paul. I have sailed on his O'Day 34 many times. He has an oversized genoa (cannot remember the percentage) on a roller furler. In huge wind it takes an act of congress to bury the rail. Very sea friendly boat that is also pretty fast. A real pleasure to sail.
