RV holding tank
Ok...there's not a whole lot of difference between marine and RV sanitation systems....give me an email shout and I'll be glad to help you.
Thanks Peggie for getting right back to me!
Our 'land yacht' is 24' Winnebago and as I mentioned we sold our Valiant40 and have been cruising this. There are alot of similarities between the two but the anchor does not drag in the middle of the night.
There are two 33gal holding tanks -one gray and one black. We manage to keep food trash out of the galley sink so the gray ls not a problem and we can let it go until it's full.
The black tank is set up as follows;
1. The head is directly over the tank and discharges direct into it via an internal gate valve.
2. The tank is unloaded via a gate valve on the underside of the tank.
3. There is a 2" or 2 1/2" PVC vent straight from the top tank to the top of the coach.
Ain't it great - no hoses!
Of course this is a dead tank and adding the usual cover ups results in the usual negitive results ad we have to dump the tank after a week or so - usually when it's not nearly full.
My idea is to put a self contained solar vent like Nicro on top of the existing vent pulling out and provide a second non-powered vent for air intake. The rig is in the sun most of the time weather being used or not.
Would this work?
Thanks Tom Maynard
