Hi, sorry for my late answer, I was sailing in the last 2 weeks.Yes it is a lofrans royal manual windlass. Yes it is slow a bit, but I think it is not SO slow. I use regularly electric windlasses on larger charter-boats and they work also not so fast. Until now I don't find problematic that the manual windlass is slower...it means 20-30 sec difference to get up the ground tackle.
