In response to interest in how we rode through Irene, I’m proud to say that Alliance had a bit part in a WBZ/CBS film clip of the storm in Buzzards Bay. A boat broke loose and it passes by Alliance on it’s way to crashing into a dock.

I just checked out the WBZ site and this is how to view their video from Sunday morning in Marion:
Go to: http://boston.cbslocal.com/video/
About half way down the page, on the right hand side, is a box ‘search videos’.
Type ‘boat loose in marion’.

You’ll need to suffer through an ad. Alliance makes her cameo appearance at about 40 seconds. It’s amazing to watch how some of the boats are bouncing around. The Challenger is pointing like an arrow.

Hope all rode through it ok, Jan Hunkel

That's good to hear Jan.

Saw that video on Sunday, following a link from the sailinganarchy Irene forum, and did wonder if that fine vessel with the what's-all-the-fuss-about attitude was her.

There are at least two versions in the WBZ archive now. The one I saw on Sunday, when it was an unedited "breaking news" story, is longer, better quality and tends to make one say "ouch" more often. It's at direct link:

The later version - edited and updated, but with downgraded quality - is at direct link:
