Inverter output

I am looking for guidance on how to distribute the output from a 110 volt inverter through out my Hunter 35. The previous owner installed a 1500 watt Kenyon inverter in the lazarett. The shore power/inverter hook up when I bought the boat appeared to work ok. The electrical switch box that directed shore power and inverter power to the power panel has failed. I now have an opportunity to rewire or redirect the inverter output. Instead of passing inverter power to the power panel - it was recommended that I take inverter power directly to two or three dedicated cabin plug-ins (shipboard wall plug-ins as the case may be) and bypass the power panel all together. Any comments from the list would be appreciated. RD

Do not understand.

Not sure I understand why you received that advice. Must be because your inverter is different from my Heart Freedom 20. My 110V is wired to the panel where there are three circuit breakers. One turns on/off the AC to the bus. There is one each for starboard and port outlets, about four on each side of the boat. I replaced the first of those on each wiring run with GFCIs. I also added a fourth circuit breaker for my Mermaid A/C. It seems that wiring of new 110 gear like an air-conditioner would be a pain without it starting at the panel. The Heart inverter is automatically out of the loop if shorepower is plugged in. Then the panel is getting it's 110 from shore. Maybe yours does not work that way, thus the advice you received.
