Inverter Location Ideas

I have a ProSine 2.0 inverter/charger measuring 17.5 inches x 11.5
inches x 6 inches. Unfortunately, I am having an incredibly tough
time figuring out where to mount it. Once its installed, I don't
think I'll need much access to it. It came with a remote panel which
I mounted near the DC distribution panel just above the companionway
steps.

I've considered mounting it under the cockpit. But I'm concerned
about the heat generated by the motor. Although we don't run the
motor very often, I'm wondering if any additional heat is going to
impact the inverter.

I also considered removing the ice chest and mounting it in that
space. How much work is it to remove the ice box? What is involved
and what are the steps? Another possible alternative is the the space
beneath the stove as far aft as possible.

I'm open to suggestions and thoughts. Any ideas are appreciated! My
Vega is essentially the original configuration except that the fuel
tank is mounted in the starboard lazarette as far forward as possible
against the bulkhead.

Thanks,

My thought would be to mount the inverter as near the batteries as possible to lessen the amp loss in the connecting cables and lessen the RF noise that might be radiated from these cables generated by the inverter circuitry.

Jack,
There's a really nice space between the ice box and the hull side.
There is also good space forward of that, under the cupboard by the
sink.
I've been scratching my head on how to get to this area, as my arm is
not quite long enough to reach in from the door under the sink. I
haven't pursued it because I don't need the space yet.
Maybe a removable bottom in the cupboard by the sink would work.
Just an idea ...

Peter,
Thanks for the idea. I'll take a look at the space this weekend. It
seems like it might be a little small, but definitely worth a closer look.

Given the lack of responses, I wonder if most people do not have an
inverter, or at least not one this size, on their Vegas. I may try
the space below the stove, too. I'd prefer not to pull the ice box.
But that is also another option.

Anyway, thanks for the idea. Pura Vida!
