Does anyone have any experience with the Interphase Scanning Sonar line? I'm particularly interested in the Outlook or Vista. (Westmarine page 147, Defender page 218, Consumers Marine Electronics page 81 in the 2002 catalogues) Can an "in-hull" transducer be used with these sounders, and if so, can the transom mount transducer be so used with one of the many techniques suggested in the archives. I already have enough holes in my hull where my Signet System 1000 depth and knotmeter are mounted. The Signet is very touchy, and I want something more than a simple digital readout. I sail inland lakes primarily which are poorly charted, if at all.
