Hi there,

I am looking at a dickinson newport diesel bulkhead heater http://www.dickinsonmarine.com/dheaters.php

but am having a bit of trouble visualising where to put it. Where do you guys have your heaters mounted? And can you post a few picks of the interior of your boat?

I'm thinking about recovering all the furnishings and would love to see what others have done

Dickinson Heater Reedback

I installed the Dickinson propane heater five years ago. Love it. Does a great job of heating my 33' boat as long as the temp is above 40 degrees. Below that, I use another ceramic heater to keep the boat toasty.

One suggestion. Make sure you buy either the cap to cover the exhaust/intake pipe OR the three "prong" cover to keep the jib lines from "wrapping" around the exhaust cap.

I mounted mine on the bulkhead to the left side of the doorway entering the "v"berth. I enclosed the existing locker, cut a hole in the bulkhead and turned the former hanging locker into bookshelfs.

I have bulk head mounted diesel heater (Signet, I believe. Manufactured in Vancouver) and an Espar forced air on my H410. The Espar is a much more effective heater for our area, makes the winter cruising as comfortable as being at home. We are currently moored at Ford Cove on Hornby Island. My intent is sail south in August and I am going to replace the Espar with an A/C unit. The Espar was just checked out at a dealer and has not yet been re-installed. If you are interested, let me know.
