Interior woodwork finish

Having trouble with finish on interior of 373 a highly glossed cherry finish.
the wood veneer is producing a chalky substance which looks like it is running out of the wood. It can be removed with a thumbnail or rubbing with furniture polish. any one had this issue? Solutions as the substance returns weekly

Is it possible there is a small leak from toe rail ,sky light ect washing any fiberglass dust residue down onto paneling ? Not leaking enough to make things wet.
Had a similar problem on our B 321 in a localized area eventuall found a small leak at a stanshon base

I use to think it was grime from crew, especially next to the companionway handrails. I scrubbed it with a dobie paid and a cleaner. It helps.
