The original cabinet work on the Vega is Sapele which is very
similar to mahogany in appearance but I don't think it is an actual
mahogany. I have seen it available on the web (I think at
Woodworker's Supply) and the cost was very reasonable I thought. . .
but then I had just paid nearly $20 a board foot for teak. I made
some small items for the cabin using mahogany and they look ok, but
for a large project the difference might be apparent.
