Hello to all, I bought a Hunter 260 and am cleaning her up for the season. What is the best way to shine the interior wood? I think the owners manual says to use teak oil; however the wood appears to have a varnish type finish from the factory. I have sanded the stern rail seats and will seal with teak oil. All imput will be greatly appreciated, I want to get her looking nice and clean!!

The interior teak should have a non-gloss finish that easily adsorbs teak oil. If this is not the case the P.O. may have varnished the interior wood. For exterior such as seats and hatchboards use a good quality UV resistant varnish.

Minwas Helmsman Varnish

When I had a 260 I used MINWAX Helmsman Varnish on the stern rail seats and hatch boards. They came out beautiful and after 3 years still look great. Salty Sailor s/v Carina II

On my H26, I've also had good luck with Helmsman varnish on outside seats and boards, and teak oil inside - assuming they have not had a poly coating put on by previous owner.

new flooring

Way back when, the floor was actual teak and holly sole. The manufactureres are now using a new laminent style flooring which is needs no maintenance. it does requiring removal of the old floor. Inquire with HOW chandlrey

Flooring 260

Hi, thank you all for the response on maintenance or interior wood. I took your advice and all looks great. One more solicitation would address the interior flooring. As stated, it is not wood, probably similar to a pergo flooring. My floor needs to regain some shine. What is the best way to acheive this task? Thank you, E. Keim
