I'm planning on refinishing some of the interior woodwork this winter on the Hunter 30 I just bought. I just removed the interior step treads and would like to know what Hunter originally used for a top coat and/or what is recommended. Any replies are certainly appreciated. Thanks. Alan Eland

See "Profin" in archives.

Hi Alan, Try profin and, later, seafin, as search arguments in the forum archives. I think that is what Hunter used originally.

teak steps

we have a 26.5'. steps from hatch to cabin are good quality teak. found best to use usual cleaner and the teak oil. some people use cytol or amoral. chandlery shops sell all different teak oils, etc. most are the same - habit and look of the label their individual diffrences mainly - but ask for alternatives. also check 'hunter rep' forum with a message on this most excellent web site. tom.

Daly's

Hunter uses Daly's SeaFin Teakoil on everything but the deck. The deck has Daly's Profin on it. I had cabinets done on my boat and use the Seafin. Look at the Photo Forum under Teak Cabinets. Daly's is located in Seattle and Bellevue WA. Call direct to order.
